German bachelite compass of World War II produced by the company Busch A.-G., Emil, Optische Industrie, from Rathenow in the Brandenburg region. This producer is, in fact, matched by the abbreviation CXN present on the top. On the back of the compass there is the manufacturer's mark of the case: "N7" Cuno Heinzelmann Hassberg from Berlin, and the letter "S" indicating the type of material used (phenolic resin = bakelite, with fine wood chip as a filler). The compass, which was carried around the neck thanks to a lanyard or inserted in the maps folder, is still working.
