The commemorative Cross of the 3rd Army was a medal created for all those who served in the Italian 3rd Army during WW1. Produced in 1919, was the only one to have a semi-official character and to be considered almost a decoration of merit rather than a commemorative medal. It was produced by the firm "Fassino" in Torino and consists of a "greek-cross", 50 mm high and 34 wide, surmounted by a Ducal Crown, with white enamelled arms and edged in silver and the words "THIRD" "ARMY" on the horizontal arms; at the center in a frame there is the lion of St. Mark in relief, in memory of the defence of Venice from late 1917 until the end of the war. On the reverse, smooth and without enamel, there is the inscription "in memory and gratitude" embossed on the horizontal arms; the trademark is on the lower arm. Original ribbon. In good conditions.
