Metal round box for codeine produced by the Military Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute of Florence. The "boli" are similar to pills, which are distinguished by the larger formats are a soft consistency dough for easy swallowing. The "codeine", instead, is a derivative of opium, and is used as a mild pain reliever and painkiller. The Military Pharmaceutical Chemist Institute was founded in Turin in 1823, but in 1931 was transferred to Florence where still works. A curious and rare item for the completion of "personal effects" of a military, or of a medical attendant.
