Dagger, normally know as S. Marco second pattern, adopted in 1935. The San Marco Battalion was, and still is, made up of Italian Royal Navy landing troops. Somebody maintain that this dagger had been distributed to the officers of the M.V.S.N. landing troops battalions that they should cooperate with those of the Italian Royal Navy for the conquest of Malta. Black bakelite handle, engraved with stylized fasces, ending with a lion's head. On the scabbard large loop for officer's belt. Excellent condition and very rare.
