German box for chess game 2nd G.M. Among the creature comforts goods that were sent to the front for the rare moments of relax of the German soldiers, there was also this box for the game of chess and others. The cardboard case contained the billboard with the chessboard with, on the back, the grid for the three game(tris). Also inside there are the 32 tokens in the two colors for the chess which, in the verse, are black and white for the draughts. On the lid numerous sign. In the vignette two soldiers, one of whom declares "checkmate." On the side the words "cheques, draughts and tris." Under "game of many possibilities with all its pieces". D.R.G.M. acronym for "Deutsches Reich – Gebrauchsmuster" or registered trademark, and still "a greeting from the Homeland". The packaging is complete and in good condition. Very curious object.
